What are Heffle up to in 2025?
Below is information about our upcoming meeting activities:
28th January 2025:
Chailey Heritage Foundation provides education and care services and is one of the UK's leading centres for children and young people with complex neuro-disabilities. Ian from the Foundation will be telling us how Chailey was established and the incredible work they achieve.
25th February 2025:
Lowland Rescue air-scenting dogs are trained to national standards to find missing people. The dogs can work anywhere from farmland to woodland. They use their incredible sense of smell to detect and home in on any person in that area. Members of the local team will join us to explain their voluntary work.
25th March 2025:
Bodiblossom - an evening of classic Burlesque. This sexy and empowering style of dance helps build confidence through playfulness and exaggerated dance movements with a flirtatious twist . Demonstration and optional participation.
22nd April 2025:
Have you ever wondered what Personal Colour Analysis was about ? Why people bother to get it done? Michaela Wynn-Jones won't just tell you about it , she'll help you find out for yourselves in this fun and informative session.
24th May 2025:
We are delighted to be running our stall at the Heathfield Show again this year. Come and visit our tent where children can do some craft and there will be a bottle tombola
27th May 2025:
Our annual meeting is in its spring slot and will start the evening. The NFWI is involved in the Great Big Green Week which is the UK's biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. We'll follow with a fun game of Bingo.
24th June 2025:
The Women's Timber Corps WW2, the LumberJills , are Britain's forgotten army. Researcher Joanna Foat tells their story and gives them the recognition they deserve.
22nd July 2025
It's hard to believe that it's our 10th birthday! In celebration we're holding a party at the Cross In Hand Bowls Club. We'll have a go at bowling and enjoy a special piece of cake, while reminiscing about the amazing 10 years we have enjoyed. Please note that this occasion is for members only.
26th August 2025
The Knepp Castle Estate in West Sussex was once intensively farmed, but is now devoted to a pioneering rewilding project. Libby Drew, from the Knepp Wildland Foundation, will explain how the Foundation has been set up to act as a catalyst for nature across Sussex.
23rd September 2025
Hypo Hounds is a Diabetic Alert Assistance Dog charity. The charity trains dogs to detect and alert their Type 1 diabetic owners to dangerous changes in blood sugar levels, helping to prevent potentially life-threatening hypoglycaemic attacks.
28th October 2025
Richard Blakey presents 'My Green Journey' (and learning along the way). How he went from recycling food and fitting LED lights to retrofitting his 1980's house to be fit for the challenge of climate change.
25th November 2025
Coming up to the festive season we will be having a Christmas Craft workshop.
16th December 2025
Christmas part time with food and fizz! It's a 'bring and enjoy' evening with a very social theme. We will be welcoming Marco Seymour, Entertainer and Magician, who will adds loads of fun to the evening. Please note we hold our December meeting a week earlier in the month to avoid the holiday period.
Additional Social Activities
As well as the items above, we regularly organise other social activities and trips which members can join in with on an optional basis. Examples of trips recently planned include Bowling, Theatre trips and Gliding. Check out the Gallery page for some photos.
