What are Heffle up to in 2024?
23rd January 2024:
Oxfam local volunteers Jackie and Sharon, describe the positives in volunteering for this charity. Apart from the fun and camaraderie that can be obtained from being a part of a committed team, there's the feeling of satisfaction that you are making a difference.
27th February 2024:
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen the muscles while improving posturalalignment and flexibility. Lisa, from the Pilates Boutique, will demonstrate a routine and then lead us through some easy movements, which can be performed on the floor or the comfort of a chair.
26th March 2024:
The art of papercutting can be traced back to the Han Dynasty in Northern China in the 4th century AD. This exquisite and skilled art form will be demonstrated by local papercutting artist Ian Penney. In a far more simplistic form we will cut an image from paper and mount if time allows.
23rd April 2024:
Gnina from 'In the Loop Drinks' is coming along to talk about her local company which produces Vermouth. There will be a chance of a tasting and the opportunity to buy a bottle during the evening.
25th May 2024:
We are delighted to be running our stall at the Heathfield Show again this year. Come and visit our tent where children can do some craft and there will be a bottle tombola
28th May 2024:
Our annual meeting has been relocated to its new spring slot and will start the evening. We'll follow with a very sociable picnic, outside if the weather permits.
25th June 2024:
The Beachy Head Chaplaincy is a valued search and recue charity that seeks to save lives at Beachy Head. Volunteers patrol on foot and by car, ready to respond to emergency calls locating anyone at risk.
23rd July 2024:
Magazines feature in many of our lives. This meeting will be themed around topics that appeared in the popular teenage magazine, Jackie. There will be interactive sessions including hobbies, book reviews, gardening, make-up and , of course a problem to solve from the agony aunt! A fun-packed evening.
27 August 2024:
The Big Summer Quiz. Cathey is organising an entertaining quiz for our summer meeting. There will be a few rounds of different subjects with a summer theme, but do not fear, nothing too taxing. You are bound to learn a few things along the way and afterwards there'll be time for our usual social gathering.
24 September 2024:
Peace, Kindness & Positivity with Tommy & Helen Banks. Chair yoga is a practice for all levels from the beginner to advanced, using a stable chair to assist in taking poses. Wear comfortable clothing.
October 2024:
We will be running our popular Coffee Morning in Heathfield. More details to follow.
22 October 2024:
We are welcoming a truly inspiring young woman, Fern and her adorable guide dog, Nancy. Fern will be speaking about the obstacles she has had to overcome due to her visual impairment and how other people judge her disability.
26 November 2024:
It's that time of year again when we hold our Christmas craft workshops. As usual it will be a very social evening while having fun learning some new Christmas crafts. We have lots of ideas to share with some easy ways of making imaginative decorations.
17 December 2024:
Christmas party time with games, fun, food and fizz! It's a 'bring and enjoy evening' with a very social theme. But what will be the theme this year? You will have the chance to choose later in the year.
